1969 Woodstock Festival Poster Scarce First Printing (24 X 36.5)
From one of the most iconic and influential events in the history of rock and roll, this is an historically significant first printing of the iconic poster to promote the Woodstock Music & Art Fair often referred to simply as “Woodstock” held during three days in August, 1969. This poster is from the original stock first printed by the creators of Woodstock, Joel Rosenman and John Roberts, to promote this mega music event and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from an engineer at their company Media Sound who had been given the poster. Measuring 24 X 36.5, this poster is the larger of two sizes printed and is much scarcer than the smaller size in circulation. The colorful poster has been well preserved in a tube since that time and is among the finest condition posters that we have ever seen. History was made over the course of this three day weekend, from August 15 to August 18, 1969 during which 32 acts performed before an audience of 400,000 young people considered to be the nexus to the counterculture generation; listening to such legendary performers as Ravi Shanker, Arlo Guthrie, Joan Baez, Santana, Country Joe and the Fish, Grateful Dead, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Sly & the Family Stone, The Who, Jefferson Airplane; Crosby, Stills Nash &Young and Jimi Hendrix. This rare poster is an unbelievable relic from this historic event. Comes with a certificate that unconditionally guarantees the authenticity of this item.
